PLYMOUTH, Pa. (AP) — The bodies of two teenage boys were found hours after they were reported missing in a river in northeastern Pennsylvania, authorities said.
Rescue crews began searching for the boys after they were reported missing in the Susquehanna River near Plymouth shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The Plymouth fire department said the bodies were found shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The ages and names of the victims weren't immediately released.
WNEP-TV reported that the boys were trying to swim out to a log in the river. Firefighters said one boy started having trouble in the water near the Carey Avenue Bridge and the other tried to rescue him.
The Luzerne County coroner's office is investigating.
