Faith Christian School, Roseto, announces its graduating Class of 2020. Graduation will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Pinebrook, 5339 Pinebrook Road, East Stroudsburg.
Zachary Erwin has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2020 at Faith Christian School. He is the son of Caleb and Amy Erwin, is the oldest of four children and has attended Faith Christian School since fourth grade. Before Faith, he had been homeschooled since pre-school. Since coming to Faith Christian School, he has had many opportunities and experiences through various school-held institutions such as Student Council, National Honor Society, sports, and other elective classes. Since the seventh grade, Zachary was elected to be a class officer of Student Council. As a senior, he served as Chaplain to the student body. Zachary played basketball during eighth and ninth grades, but what he really enjoyed and excelled in are soccer and track and field. He has played soccer for Faith from sixth grade through senior year, and participated in track and field in seventh, eighth, 11th and 12th grades. During his senior year, he served as part of the tech team for the school’s weekly chapel and also had the privilege to be a chapel speaker in a three-part sermon series with classmates Connor Brawley and David Magnin. He plans to pursue a degree in ministry leadership to become a youth pastor. His college of choice is undecided, but a potential school is the University of Valley Forge. One of his many favorite verses to live by is 1 John 4:18 which says, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
Cameron Whistler has been named salutatorian of the Class of 2020 at Faith Christian School. He is the son of Matthew and MaryEllen Whistler of Pen Argyl. Cameron attended Faith Christian School from eighth through 12th grades. He has always enjoyed sports and athletics, and he played on the school soccer and basketball teams for the past five years. Cameron was a captain of the soccer team in grades 11 and 12, and captain of the basketball team in grade 12. In 10th grade, Cameron served as class vice-president. In 11th grade, Cameron was nominated and accepted into the National Honor Society, and as a senior, he served as its reporter. Cameron is active in his church, willingly serving by going on mission trips or cleaning the church. Cameron received multiple Solomon awards from Faith Christian School in recognition of his hard work as a student and he was named the salutatorian of his graduating class. His favorite Bible verse is James 4:8 “Come near to God and he will come near to you...” Cameron plans to continue his general education studies at Northampton Community College.
