Pennsylvania State Police out of Blooming Grove are on the lookout for a man that allegedly stole several firearms from the Pickerel Inn General Store in Pike County.


At 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, state police at Blooming Grove received a call reporting an armed robbery in progress at the Pickerel Inn General Store in Porter Township.


According to the police report, a male – described as short and skinny, wearing a full black face mask, black Adidas jogging pants, a long-sleeve gray shirt, a camo tactical vest and carrying a large backpack – forced entry into the building and attempted to steal firearms and ammunition.


The male was confronted by the store owner and a tenant, who were responding to the security alarm. The male displayed a firearm and threatened the owner and tenant before fleeing in what has been described as a "possibly newer model white Ford F-150 single-cab pickup, bearing an unknown special registration plate and unknown numeric decals on the front bumper."


Police stated that the male left the scene with approximately six firearms and assorted ammunition.


A homemade explosive device, consisting of shogun shells and BBs strapped to a butane canister with a black powder igniter, was left behind at the scene by the male.
