On February 22nd, seven boys from Cub Scout Pack 98 of Brodheadsville had much to celebrate at their annual Blue & Gold ceremony, including a rare and special Scout milestone. Muhlis Cetin, Ethan Marchesani, Gavin Martocci, Jacob Maxwell, Aden Murray, Hunter Russell, and Chase Salzman of the Webelos 2 den were joined by Senator Mario Scavello to celebrate completing all 27 Scouting adventures for their rank; earning the Super Achiever award, a milestone formerly known as the Heavy Shoulder. Six of the boys; Muhlis, Ethan, Jacob, Aden, Hunter and Chase also completed all 11 NOVA adventures along with the Supernova, a Scout program focused in the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Their efforts earned them each the Charles H. Townes Supernova Award. Additionally, each earned the Arrow of Light, the highest honor a Cub Scout can earn.
Senator Scavello presented the Cub Scouts each with an award acknowledging their achievements in Scouting and their service to the community. The boys have committed to further serving their community by joining local Boy Scout troops and continuing on in hopes of earning their Eagle Scout rank.
