“Fractured State”: Film and seminar on Pennsylvania citizens’ environmental rights at 2 p.m. at Columcille Megalith Park, 2155 Fox Gap Road, Bangor. This short film by Amy Riggleman and Daniel McNew will kick off a Columcille Academy seminar on the Environmental Rights Amendment (ratified in 1971) to the Pennsylvania Constitution. This educational gathering will be led by Columcille board member Mark Lichty, business person, lawyer and social justice advocate. Lichty is the executive producer of “Groundswell Rising,” a 2014 feature-length documentary on the impact of fracking. Free to the public. Donations appreciated. Maple Sugaring Day: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 7, Meesing Outdoor Site on Creek Road, Marshalls Creek. Take a 90-minute tour of the sugarbush focusing on the history of maple syrup from the Native Americans to the early settlers in this region. Learn how to “tap” a maple tree to obtain sap, and watch as we demonstrate how to cook the sap until it is sweet maple syrup. You’ll complete the tour at our pancake station where the finished product is served over freshly made pancakes. Cost: $6, adults, $4, children under 12 and free for KCEEC members.
