The Pocono Bluegrass and Folk Society will host a March shindig at noon Sunday at the Clarion Inn & Suites, 101 Broad St., Delaware Water Gap.


These events are monthly gatherings of musicians and fans of bluegrass and acoustic music, and consist of stage shows all day as well as continuous informal jamming throughout the building. The shows start at noon and end around 5 p.m. Food and beverages are available. This is a family friendly event. Bring your instrument and join the fun.


This month’s featured bands are The Lost Ramblers and Strawberry Ridge.


The Lost Ramblers are an acoustic quartet who have been playing regionally and locally for more than 40 years, doing traditional and original music.


Strawberry Ridge is a five-piece group from Danville who play an eclectic mix of bluegrass, folk and blues music. Other local and regional bands will be performing as well.

Also, the 39th annual Ron Nauman Fiddle Contest will be held on April 5 at the Clarion Inn & Suites, Delaware Water Gap. This is an open competition, every style is welcome. There are two professional judges. Each player will play two tunes. No registration fee. First prize is $200, second prize is $100 and third prize is $75. They will also be a youth division, 12 and under with different prizes.
