Sure, you can call her by name but she might not come. Meet the Poconos' sassiest cat, Stella.
Shelter staff says the 6-year-old tuxedo mix has some serious abandonment issues ― and rightly so. She was surrendered by her owner in 2016 and has been seeking a home ever since.
Stella refuses to let anyone remove her fluffy pink collar (bell and all) which is the last gift she has left from her former life.
She‘s got her moods. Pet her too much and she'll repay you with a standoffish stare. Ignore her, and she'll be eagerly rubbing against your legs seeking attention and love.
Stella‘s got the energy and spunk of a kitten and gets along with her feline counterparts as long as they know who’s in charge. (And they will ― no kitten around!)
Warning: Do not attempt to pick up Stella. We hear it's a clawful experience. She prefers petting and playtime only. Just let her chase around some toys, and she‘ll be your best friend in no time.
So however you pur-ceive life will be with Stella around, you won‘t be bored. She can be a little bit of a jerk at times, but all she really craves is someone who will cherish and adore her.
Stella is spayed and up-to-date on all her shots. For adoption information, call 570-242-2846 or visit animalscanttalk.org/adopt
