He's all boxed up and needs to roam free.

Meet Kona, 11, a special needs kitty who has a previous paw injury and is confined to a cage.

Shelter staff says Kona can only use paper litter due to his boo-boo and has to be kept separate from the other cats because of it (not unlike most rescues, they don't have enough rooms for solo living quarters).

Don't let his hurt paw fool you. This spunky senior is quite the charmer and seeks attention. He craves cuddles and one of his favorite pastimes is chasing down a laser pointer.

And shh, don't tell the other kitties, but he's one of the favorites among the rescue staff because of his winning personality and unforgettable amber eyes.

Kona, who was found abandoned on the street, deserves a happy ending.

He is up-to-date on his shots and neutered. Because of his age the adoption rate is reduced.
