Now this is puppy love, or, birds of a feather....You decide.

Lundy, a chihuahua, and Herman, a pigeon, have begun an unlikely friendship and melted millions of hearts along the way.

The pair, who are now internet celebrities thanks to a recent Facebook post, are roomies at The Mia Foundation, a shelter in Hilton, New York.

The shelter rescues animals born with birth defects and physical deformities.

Lundy, who is 8-weeks old, is unable to walk, and Herman cannot fly.

Sue Rogers, who founded the organization with her husband, Gary, posted an adorable photo of the pair on Valentine’s Day after they ended up cuddled together in a dog bed.

"I see a new friendship blooming ," she wrote on Facebook. The post has been shared more than 46,000 times, and the couple say they have "been inundated with requests to share the story behind the Lundy and Herman pictures from all over the world."

They’ve also received donations that will be used for surgical procedures.

"WOW! I never imagined the pictures of Lundy and Herman would touch so many people! Almost 5 million people in a little over 24 hours!! Their little story is being shared all over the world!" Sue wrote after the post went viral. "Welcome to the thousands of new followers. We hope you enjoy our page and our special animals And, thank you also for the donations coming in. We really do need them as we have a few surgeries coming up soon! It brings me to tears to think that our little Herman (the pigeon) is known worldwide now! I’ve been called crazy for keeping Herman alive and trying to make his life a happy one. His life has meaning too And Lundy....well, who wouldn’t love that sweet little nugget?. Thank you all again "
